Messina joined Carpenter & Company, Inc. in 1987 and spearheads all construction-related activities for the company’s hospitality, mixed-use, and retail projects.

From preconstruction through delivery, Messina oversees selecting and managing all contractors to ensure quality, timeline, and budget expectations are met.

Messina’s work has transformed neighborhoods and city skylines. He led the extensive and famed renovation of the Charles Street Jail into Boston’s popular hotel and nightlife destination, The Liberty Hotel; the construction of the tallest residential building in Boston, Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences One Dalton Street, Boston; and the transformation of the former World Trade Center in New Orleans into the Five Star Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences New Orleans. Each project has been recognized with accolades and awards covering historic perseveration, design, and hospitality.
